Monday Made Its: Paper Wreath, Bookmarks, Menus

Happy Monday! Today is my last day off even though I'm going to school to set up my room. Teachers officially start back tomorrow.
Mondays are great because of Tara's Monday Made It! Her linky makes me accomplish some of the things on my "to do" list!

My paper wreath was inspired by Love, Pomegranate House! Of course, she made it look so easy. I think I made mine too big. The directions called for an 8" circle and after gluing several pieces down, I knew it looked too big so I ripped the paper off and trimmed it to make the circle smaller.
I made this wreath for my classroom door.
I cut an 8" circle on poster board and collected the cardstock colors I wanted to use for my wreath.

I cut the cardstock in fourths and rolled the paper. I used my hot glue gun to secure the rolled paper together. Then I hot glued the rolled paper on the outside of the circle.

I continued working my way into the center of the circle.
Here it is!

I hot glued a piece of ribbon on the back to hang on a hook (I used a push pin and it holds it up!).

My second Monday Made It are these colorful bookmarks for my students. These were inspired by a pin I pinned on Pinterest. At the beginning of every year I cringe when I hear how many of my students hate reading. I try to equip them with several fun things to get them excited about reading at home and school.
I used scrapbook paper and labels to make the bookmarks. The scrapbook paper is the package of 2"x12" strips and I cut it in half.

My third Monday Made It was something I just had to sit down and get done so I can implement them right away with informational text.
I finished making my class set of my Reading Response Menus for Non-Fiction! Can't wait to use them this year!

Go check out all the great ideas on Tara's Monday Made It-you won't be disappointed!

I'm so honored that Tara blogged about my Door Hangers for this week's Monday Made It! It's one of my favorite creations to get students motivated about reading, studying, and working at home!
My Door Hangers will be 20% today so you can motivate your students too!
Thanks Tara for the shout out!
