Tried It Tuesday and Workshop Wednesday-Pocket Chart on Wheels

Linking with two of favorite people Holly from Fourth Grade Flipper and Jivey from Ideas by Jivey!

I wanted to spice up my pocket chart to match my classroom so I decorated it with chevron ribbon. I just hot glued the ribbon right on the pocket chair and voila! It gives it a whole new look-I'm pretty excited about it!!!
My students use this pocket chart for some of their reading center work-one of the many things I've had to get reading for Reading Workshop.
(It's like an interactive bulletin board.)

I have my pocket chart for centers on wheels. I have "tried" this trick for years and it's perfect! I can wheel it around anywhere in my room-it's like a portable bulletin board.
This chart is mostly used for word work-I like it on wheels because if I'm meeting with my guided reading groups, they can "wheel" their work right over to me to check it. It's not for a grade, but I want my students to know I hold them accountable for their work and that I care about their learning. It's just a quick scan and a compliment, then they wheel the chart back to its location.
It's also great for whole group instruction as well.
At school I also have other pocket charts on my stand and flip them over to use them. I always have one on either side so it's reversible-clever right?
(This is just a clothing garment rack-they sell them at Target and Walmart for less than $10).
